Trims Inspection

Objective:
To ensure that trims received conforms to customer’s specification.

Scope:
This procedure covers inspection of all accessories received by the store which shall be used by production.

Authority:
The Merchandising Department is controlling this procedure in accordance with buyer.

Responsibility:
It is the responsibility of the store Manager to implement and maintain this procedure.

Procedure:
Upon receipt of the trims/accessories from supplier, the store team shall perform the following tasks.
Þ     Obtain samples of Trims/accessories received from supplier and seek approval from Merchandising Department where the quality received conforms to the specification required by the customer.

Þ     Once the specimen sample is approved, proceed to inspection on quality based on AQL 1.5.

Þ     Specimen sample of the trims received shall be pasted and recorded on the book of approval which is a representative of the AQL 1.5 inspection.

Þ     Trims QC perform quality inspection based on AQL 1.5 with Zero Tolerance on Critical and Product safety issues.

Þ     Non countable goods check based on 10%. Below 1% Accept & above 1% Reject.

Þ     Product Safety – Trims checked for product safety. If any trims has potential to affect product safety (i.e – Sharpness harming to wearer, me BGL, etc.) will be checked 100% irrespective AQL Pass.

Þ     Zippers checked for Functioning, Color, Size & any damage or parts missing.

Þ     Main/Size/care Labels – checked against wording & printing quality.

Þ     UPC stickers checked against for UPC code and printing quality.

Þ     Buttons checked for size, color & quality.

Þ     Threads checked for shade number, Tex & shade matching with specimen.

Þ     Trims Color/Shades checked under Light Box.

Þ     Sewing Trims checked for Color Bleeding – All sewing trims sewn into white fabric & washed as required to verify any color bleeding,
